Master Lu's Teachings Child and Tao Nobody knows better the Tao than a new born child. He knows the Tao
from his nonbeing that preceded his coming into being. Because the Tao is not a thing or a being or something we could perceive with our senses. Tao is not. The child knows better that Tao is not. He experiences the Tao by playing without thinking of playing, without even thinking of something. His mind is pure like the purest light of the initial Heaven. I call him son of Heaven. Commentary This is perhaps the most important teaching of Master Lu. The child's theme could be found in Tao-te ching too, but it is not so simple and clear treated as in Master Lu's teachings. The child is the model of all saints and masters of ancient times and he is a model of purity in other religions too. But with Master Lu we forget the moral purity to discover a new and by far most important one: the mind purity.. => More teachings here |
