Tao and Books

Tao can not be found from books. The books, even well written, are meant for mind and intellect; a cultivated intellect, namely full of ready-made ideas and conceptions.

When reading about Tao in books, we get multiple sensations towards it. We think that we can understand it, or we should read more, a more comprehensive book, etc., in order to understand it. In the first instance, understanding is limited to concepts and has no relevance to experienced life. In the second instance, it depends on accumulation of knowledge revealed by books and is never finite.

Therefore, Tao can not be discovered from books.
